Blog family trees

Via Pharyngula, I learn that some guy has embarked on the ambitious project of "making a family tree of the blogosphere."

He asks for the following information:

1) your blogfather, or blogmother, as the case may be. Just one please - the one blog that, more than any other, inspired you to start blogging

Like PZ, I'd have to say Crooked Timber.

2) Include your blog-birth-month, the month that you started blogging, if you can.

March 2004.

3) If you are reasonably certain that you have spawned any blog-children, mention them, too.

There's Reuben's blog, I guess. Any other bastard children will have to speak up in the comments ;)
