But I think it is also fundamentally mistaken. I don't see any connection between free will libertarianism and political libertarianism. And similarly, I see compatibilism as being perfectly consistent with political libertarianism. For instance, most compatibilists would reject that the citizen acts freely when they act on teh basis of manipulated desires.
